Passed away in Lethbridge on Friday, October 25, 1991, MR. WILBERT "BERT" RICHARD McBURNEY, at the age of 76 years, beloved husband of Mrs. Edna McBurney of Lethbridge, Alberta.

Born, raised and educated in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan the late Mr. McBurney served overseas during World War II from 1941 to 1945. Bert assisted with thirteen air missions over France and was held as a prisoner of war for thirteen months. He married his wife, Edna Andrews on September 5, 1949 in Edmonton and together they lived in Calgary, Edmonton, Claresholm, and Winnipeg before settling in Lethbridge in 1961. Bert was employed with the Canada Post Office in Lethbridge until his retirement. He has resided in Lethbridge until his passing.

He was a member of the Army, Navy & Airforce Veteran's Club of Lethbridge.

Besides his loving wife, Edna, Bert is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lynda (Glenn) Schuler of Claresholm; and three grandchildren: Megan, Brent and Neil. Mr. McBurney was predeceased by his parents: William and Rose McBurney; three sisters: Ruth, Alma and Audrey; and one brother, Lawrence. 5

The cause of her death was sepsis/renal failure.

The bride was attended by Mrs. J. Taylor and the bridegroom was attended by Mr. Taylor. The usher was S. C. H. Pilling.

A reception was held at the home of Mrs. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. McBurney left for Calgary where they will make their home.
