bullet  Facts and details for :

Her obituary was published in The Province on 27 Nov 2008. It read as follows:

LEGGE Georgina Frances We are saddened to announce the passing of Gina, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and soon-to-be great-grandmother, on November 22, 2008. Georgina was born on May 6, 1924, in Resource, SK, the 12th of 15 children. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Murray, "her girls", Brenda Weppler, Sandi Legge (Bill Loiselle), Carla Corkum (Brian), Pamela Frances Legge-Mills (Doug), Miranda Young (Mel), cherished grandchildren, Hannah Giesbrecht (Terry), Daniel Corkum, Rebekah Klassen (Bruce), Sarah Faith Corkum (Curtis Nemechek), Oliver, Chalise and Sylvienna Young and her only surviving sibling, younger bother Nick Stasiuk (Vivian), three sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Gina was predeceased by seven brothers and six sisters. Before Gina met Murray in 1946, immediately after he returned from WWll, she had a lively single life shared with her sister Sophie, singing on the radio in Prince Albert, SK and working as secretary to the future PM John Diefenbaker. Married in Regina they moved many times before retiring to Kelowna in 1981 and on to White Rock in 1996. Mom would have loved a singing career but devoted herself to family instead and was contented with the choir or singing along to her many "I love this
piece" on the radio. She was the life of the party, always dancing til dawn and the last to bed. She also enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping and whether on a toboggan, snow mobile, dirt bike or boat, she always loved speed, even walking in a blur. Mom practised all the womanly arts: baking, cooking, canning, sewing, needlecraft, and could always be found out in the garden . The family has wonderful memories of berry picking, baking days, candy making and Ukrainian Christmas celebrations. We are left with wonderful memories of a vibrant wife, mother and grandmother who enriched our lives in so many
ways. Thank you, you'll be in our hearts forever. A special thank you to all who cared for Gina at Westminster House. Celebration of Life Service, Arbor Chapel, Valleyview Memorial Gardens, 14644 - 72 Aye, Surrey, BC, 2:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2008 with viewing at 1:00 pm and reception following. There's a rainbow over yonder, Just west of Rainbow trail, and when the stars start twinkling, I'll ride the winding vale. 5
