nee Lee

Peacefully on Monday, December 21, 2009 after a short but aggressive battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Harry Melvin Bower. She will be missed by her step-sons Bruce Bower (Kelly) of Port Coquitlam BC, and Wayne Bower (Laurie McBurney) of Charlottetown, PEI, and by her grandchildren Jesse and Cayce Bower of Port Coquitlam BC, Kate Steinfeld (Daniel) of Toronto Ontario, David Bower (Amanda) of Ottawa, and her great-granddaughter Emily Steinfeld. She is survived by her sister-in-law Norma Hall (Charles) of Oakley California, her niece Brenda, and her nephews Ross and Neil. She will be forever remembered by her extended family and friends. Born in Doonside, Saskatchewan on May 24, 1933, she was an avid Roughrider fan. She is predeceased by her parents William Clement Lee and Jennie Clay, her sisters Margery Mae Keegan and Lola Jean Seidler. Special thanks to her friends Don and Lois Milne and her cousins Doug and June Newman for their care. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Rd, on Monday, December 28, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In memoriam donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Lung Association. 8

She was buried at the Capital Memorial Gardens in Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario, Canada on 29 Dec 2009. She is buried at Capital Memorial Gardens in the Garden of the Apostles, Lot 10, grave C2.

The cause of his death was chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

They were married at Westminster United Church by Rev. Chris T. Mills. The witnesses were Wayne Bower and Margery Keegan. Margery's daughter Brenda was Luella's maid of honour. Brenda was not able to sign as a witness because she had not attained the age of majority.
