Soon after his father's death, Thomas Bliss removed to Saybrook, where he lived until 1659, when he was one of the thirty-five men who purchased the present site of Norwich from the Mohegan Indians and settled there. His home lot was still in the possession of his descendants as late as 1880, being held under the original deed. He served in King Philip's War.
