Bullard and Allied Families, pg 180 states "Hugh Ca(u)lkins was one of a
body of immigrants called the WELSH Company that came in the company of their
minister Rev. Mr. Blinman and a large portion of thast company settled at
Marshfield, but soon transferred their residence to Gloucester at Cape Ann.
After about 8 years they again moved to New London, CT.
The Rev. Mr. Blinman was invited to visit and/or stay at the plantation of Mr.
Winthrop and the group decided to follow him due to their affections for him."
It further states "His sons John and David survived his death in 1690, along
with his wife, and the only record to be found of her is her name ANN. Six
children have been traced, four of whom were doubtless born before the
emigration to New England. They are:
I. Sarah, 'eldest' md at Gloucester, 28 Oct 1645, William Hough
II. Mary, md at Gloucester, 8 Nov 1649, Hugh Roberts
III. Rebecca, d at Gloucester, 11 Mar 1651
IV. Deborah, b at Gloucester, 18 Mar 1643
V. John, b probably in England; md at New London, Sarah Royce. Settled in
VI. David, b.......Settled at New London, CT
