ROSS, Mary Beatrice Graham Peacefully, in the company of her children at the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital on October 2nd, 2006 in her 88th year, after a lengthy illness following surgery in 2004. Mary was born in Kingston, Ontario to Dr. Stanley and Beatrice Graham and continued the family tradition of attending Queens University. She was blessed in her marriages, first to Lt. Col. George Michael (Jim) Billings who passed away in 1966, then to Col. Richard (Dick) Ross, who also predeceased her. She is survived by her devoted children Rosemary, Jane (Ronald Thompson) and Michael Billings (Karen Phillips), her step-son Ken Ross (Eileen), step-daughter Wendy Eves (Frank) and her sister Barbara Munro. Her brother, Dr. Eric Graham, predeceased her. She doted on her grandchildren Robin Brent (John), Alison Booth, Alexandra and Graham Billings and Erin and Ian Ross. Persuaded by her husband, Mary reluctantly became a high school teacher in 1961, teaching in Almonte, Germany, Sir Wilfrid Laurier in Ottawa, and lastly, Lisgar Collegiate, where she was an awesome Math teacher until she retired in 1978. She was the adored back bone of our family and will be deeply missed. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 125 MacKay Street, Ottawa, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6. Interment at Cataraqui Cemetery in Kingston at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. No visitation.
