Notice is hereby given that after the expiration of twenty days from the first publication hereof, application will be made to the Surrogate Court of the County of Carleton by Ira Bower, of the City of Ottawa, in the County of Carleton, Surgeon Dentist, Albert Howard Bower, of the Township of Osgoode, in the said County of Carleton, Farmer, and Alice Winnifred Bower, of the said City of Ottawa, widow, for a grant to them of Letters of Guardianship of the persons and estate of the said John Conrad Van Allan Bower, Frederick Wade Ottawa Bower, Marjory Elizabeth Donalda Bower and Dallas Whipple Stanford Bower, of the said City of Ottawa, infant children of John Campbell Bower, late of the said City of Ottawa.

His obituary was published in the Ottawa Citizen on 22 Mar 1927 in Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario, Canada. It read as follows:

The funeral of Albert Bower, a life-long resident of Osgoode Township whose death occurred Thursday after a short illness, was held Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of personal friends. Mr. Bower died at the residence of his son, Ira Bower, 109 Ossington Avenue, at the age of 81 years.

Service was conducted at the residence of his son by Rev. H. L. Morrisson, of Ottawa South United Church, and Rev. J. J. E. Brownlee, also of Ottawa, and later in the afternoon service was also conducted in Kars United Church by the minister, Rev. Mr. Smith. Burial was made at Kars.

Many beautiful floral tributes testified to the high esteem in which Mr. Bower had been held by a large number of friends.

Chief mourners at the funeral included his widow, Annie Bower, one daughter, Mrs. W. Van Allen, of Mountain, Ont., two sons Wilbert and Ira Bower, both of Ottawa, and one brother, Dr. Ira Bower of Ottawa. Another son Albert Bower, of Saskatchewan, was unable to be present. 15
